Develop CNC programs using CAM software based on CAD models, blueprints, or engineering drawings.
Optimize CNC programs to improve cycle times, reduce tool wear, and enhance overall efficiency.
Train machinists to set up CNC machines, include select appropriate cutting tools and configuring machine parameters.
Run simulations of CNC programs to verify tool paths, ensure program accuracy, and troubleshoot potential issues.
Ensure all parts meet specifications and tolerances through inspection and testing processes, including using calipers, micrometers, and CMM machines.
Maintain detailed records of CNC programs, setups, tool paths, and process sheets for each part.
Assist with troubleshooting machine issues, performing minor machine adjustments or recommending solutions for optimal performance.
Work with engineers, production teams, and quality control personnel to ensure design intent is achieved and manufacturing standards are maintained.
