1) The Collateral Management Department is responsible to effectively mitigate Counterparty Credit Risk arising out of OTC Derivatives and Financing Transactions. This is achieved by exchanging collateral based on Master Agreements and Credit Support documents on a daily basis. The department covers bilateral OTC Derivative and Financing Relationships, Margin for Prime Clients and House Clearing. The global team of around 200 FTE is mainly located across 4 trading hubs in London, New York, Hong Kong and Paris and three HSBC Operational Hubs in Bangalore, Kuala Lumpur and Manila. The individual would be located in Kuala Lumpur.
2) The Collateral Product Owner, reporting to the Global Lead of the Collateral Analytics team (based in London), is one of three Collateral Analytics team members whose collective remit will cover:
\xc2\xb7 Delivering the current and steering the future book of work for technological & process improvement and the business enablement within.
\xc2\xb7 Represent the Collateral line in PODS as Product Owners, where fitting.
\xc2\xb7 Review, crtiique and sign off on project particulars; intended architecture, user stories, acceptance criteria, test approach, deployment.
\xc2\xb7 Prioritising technology development, both at a Roadmap and at the Kanban Grooming level.
\xc2\xb7 Keeping abreast of new technologies and utilities, products & services within the collateral industry.
\xc2\xb7 Vendor management, collaborating with IT to ensure proper engagement and measures are maintained, with oversight of contractual terms.
\xc2\xb7 Business Support, adapting and providing MI when required, centralising and responding to requests.
\xc2\xb7 Fielding and coordinating requests from stakeholders, including the Front Office and Regulators.
The Opportunity and What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:
Specifically, the Collateral Product Owner will be accountable for the daily management of:
\xc2\xb7 Understanding the department\xe2\x80\x99s strategy out to 5 years from both an infrastructure and resourcing basis.
\xc2\xb7 Work with the global collateral team to gather and document Manual processes in order to package thematically for future funding bids.
\xc2\xb7 Maintaining of JIRA for the priority items, logging new items, and communicating to the global team on priority decisions.
\xc2\xb7 Understand Agile and Dev Ops and perform the Product Owner role, making critical decisions on priority and answering product questions posed by the POD.
\xc2\xb7 Attend regular grooming / planning calls as a product owner and make decions where required.
\xc2\xb7 Deputy for the other two members, ensuring fungibility and covering responsibilities where required, including in senior forums such as Project Steering Committees.
\xc2\xb7 Collaborating with technology and change to execute the book of work working within the framework agreed between the teams, challenging where appropriate.
\xc2\xb7 Help maintain, review and challenge the appropriate measures in order to ensure optimal delivery and control.
\xc2\xb7 Represent the Collateral line in vendor meetings, conferences and other industry events.
\xc2\xb7 Owner of at least one vendor relationship, acting as the SPOC for collateral ops, ensururing they are measured against performance.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
\xc2\xb7 Maintain and improve a robust and efficient control environment for the logging and prioritising of development efforts.
\xc2\xb7 Work with the team lead on the continuing development, implementation and improvement of the processes, structures, capabilities, capacity and infrastructure needed to deliver agreed plans and targets, collaborating with colleagues to maximise end-to-end integration, effectiveness and efficiency.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure test packs are maintained post releasing additional components and features.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure technical support requirements are captured in all future development cycles to allow maximum system stability for the business.
\xc2\xb7 Work with Change and IT to demo and adequately document system features, allowing more self service for the global collateral team.
Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)
\xc2\xb7 Ensure all technical changes are reviewed to ensure the appropriate risks are articulated and tested for.
\xc2\xb7 Support the ongoing review and improvement of stability measures.
\xc2\xb7 Act in a supervisory role across all aspects of the team\xe2\x80\x99s remit and escalate accordingly.
\xc2\xb7 Document lessons learnt to ensure continual development and maturity of the role.
Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)
\xc2\xb7 The job holder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures.

\xc2\xb7 The incumbent should have 5+ years direct experience in Collateral Management and/or Client Valuations, and should have significant subject matter expertise in all aspects of margin, margin-related legal documentation and regulation associated with the margining of derivative and financing products.
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of OTC Derivative Products and Financing Transactions.
\xc2\xb7 Structured in approach and able to manage changing remits and priorities.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to multi task and work under pressure.
