The O2C Manager - Collections is responsible for overseeing the collections function within the Order-to-Cash process. This role focuses on ensuring timely and effective collection of receivables, reducing overdue accounts, and optimizing cash flow. It requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to managing customer relationships and resolving payment issues. The manager works closely with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure compliance with financial policies and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the collections team, ensuring efficient execution of collection activities
Monitor and improve key collections KPIs such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), aging of receivables, and collection effectiveness
Develop and implement strategies to reduce overdue accounts and bad debt
Collaborate with internal teams (finance, sales, legal) to resolve payment disputes and escalate issues as needed
Maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate timely payments and address concerns
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and audit requirements related to collections
Support automation and process improvement initiatives within the collections function
Key Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in collections or related finance functions
Proven track record in managing teams and improving collections performance
Experience in working with international clients and cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Experience in shared services or BPO environment is a plus
