Position: Commis Chef - Japanese Izakaya (pre opening)
Location: Seapark
We are looking for a passionate Commis Chef to join our newly open Japanese izakaya kitchen team. If you enjoy fast-paced service, learning new skills, and working with Japanese ingredients, we want to meet you.
Responsibilities
Assist in daily food preparation (hot kitchen & cold kitchen)
Support chef with cutting, portioning, marination, and mise-en-place
Plate dishes according to izakaya standards
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen area
Receive, check, and store ingredients properly (chiller/freezer)
Follow SOP and safety procedures
Assist in inventory and stock rotation
Work closely with senior chef during service
Requirements
Fresh-grade are encourage to apply
Diploma/ certification from culinary art preferred
Able to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Positive attitude, willing to learn, reliable
Can work under pressure in a busy kitchen
Team player with strong discipline
Passionate about Japanese cuisine is a plus
Working Hours
5.5 days per week
Salary & Benefits
Basic salary: RM 2200 to RM 2600
Overtime + other allowance
Staff meal provided
EPF + SOCSO
Training on Japanese cooking techniques
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresh graduate
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,600.00 per month
