Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated

Commis Chef (Junior Level)

to join our Elder Home Care Centre. This role is ideal for a

fresh graduate

or entry-level culinary professional who is eager to gain hands-on experience in preparing nutritious and appetising meals tailored to the needs of elderly residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the daily preparation and cooking of meals for residents, ensuring nutritional value and presentation standards are met. Follow recipes and menus set by the Head Chef or Dietitian, accommodating dietary restrictions (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, soft diets). Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, following food safety and sanitation guidelines (HACCP standards). Ensure proper storage and labelling of food items. Support in receiving and checking food supplies and inventory control. Assist during meal service, ensuring timeliness and resident satisfaction. Participate in kitchen cleaning duties and dishwashing as needed. Report any equipment malfunction or safety concerns to the supervisor. Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Head Chef or management.

Requirements:

Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field. Must have food handling certification approved by MOH and valid typhoid injection, if required.

- training will be provided. Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations. Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team. Passion for cooking and caring for the elderly. Willingness to work weekends or shifts, if required.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
