Job Description

The Communications Manager will be responsible for leading, planning & executing external and internal communications in-country. You will manage GSK Malaysia corporate reputation and positioning in-country, delivering an integrated communications strategy that is aligned to the GSK global businesses and functions. You will also support all products/brands related communications works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, plan & execute communications and activities related to engagement calendar and/or adhoc events organised as a part of local or global initiatives in consultation with Director of Communications, Government Affairs & Strategic Customer Solutions.
• Support all forms of communications write-up for the business entity.
• Manage the various communication channels (broadcasts, townhalls, e-mails, newsletters, surveys, plasma, print & media)
• Provide expert opinions and consultancy for all products/brands related communications work including disease awareness campaigns.
• Create and build relationships with external stakeholders that will take an interest in and want to talk proactively about GSK.
• Provide expertise in corporate reputation management including crisis management.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on delivering above responsibilities (locally & above country).
• Administration responsibilities where applicable, and any additional tasks/ responsibilities as determined by line manager.

• Bachelor degree, preferably in Mass Communications/ English Literature/ Journalism/ Marketing.
• MBA or related master's degree would be an added advantage
• Experience in Corporate Communications with strong project management skills.
• Ability to understand business issues and devise communications strategies that deliver results, constructing fresh approaches where appropriate and making connections to other issues.
• Superior command in English, strong in Malay - able to communicate effectively and transversally
• Outgoing personality, at ease with being in public settings & public speaking
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Demonstrate team-work attitude/collaboration, empathy, maturity, understanding, good adaptation and strong interpersonal skills/people-management skills
• Self starter and innovator
• Demonstrated planning ability and strong organisational/ prioritisation skills
