Job Summary

Under limited supervision, assists in the planning, creation, editing, and implementation of project-specific communication approaches and materials for both internal and external audiences across all channels including paid, earned, shared and owned media.

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

  • Creates internal and external communications
  • Ensure consistency and co-ordination of communication messages according to Group Communication content strategy\'.
  • Produce communication materials in accordance with current brand guidelines and the organization\'s style guide.
  • Support short term communication projects and assists with the management of longer term communications projects. Participates in special projects as assigned
Key accountabilities might be based on the different specialties:

Integrated communication (topic owner and content producer):
  • Produces communications copy for all channels including collaterals and other supporting materials, web content, Intranet, etc., ensuring all messages follow compliance with corporate identity and brand consistency.
  • Collaborates with and provides insight on design and production team deliverables, including scheduling, approvals, budget, and distribution.
  • Works with business and external partners, as needed, for deliverable creation and develops a good working knowledge of Business Unit/Shared Services Unit products and services.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate narrative, corporate identity and brand consistency.
  • Updates intranet, social media and internet web sites and monitors them for accuracy of information.
  • Provides status updates to communication manager and business partners.
  • Support measurement and reporting on all actives and activations and support tracking on all channels
Media relations add-ons specific add-ons:
  • Administer public/media relations policies and programs.
  • Work with media teams on projects and creating literature and other forms of communication.
  • Manage media issues and crisis\' through effective news management, and develop and implement crisis management procedures.
  • Manage media agencies against targets and budget.
  • Develop and maintain a media profile of senior spokespeople.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry activity, issues and current affairs applying to media relations activity as appropriate.
  • Act as counsel or advisor for specific areas of the business on media relations approach.
Corporate publishing specific add-ons:
  • Support in the development of publication (including posters, banners, digital images for intranet use, infographics etc. in accordance with brief.
  • Manage initial version through to signed off version with Communication Account Manager.
  • Support in the development of briefs and deliver end products in consultation with Communication Account Managers and others in Corporate Affairs team.
Job Functions
  • Assists with coordinator of company events, as needed.
  • Support and contribute to the development and implementation of integrated communication plans and programs in support of business strategy
Business Accountabilities
  • Provide general clerical services to internal and external customer groups in the processing of transactions to support the achievement of customer service standards.
  • Monitor business processes in order to identify and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Access various systems to process data, analyze and provide input to facilitate decision making.
  • Identify and comply with the main principles relevant to legal and regulatory controls that govern standard work practices.
  • Provide appropriate data and basic analysis for monthly financial reporting to support financial decision making.
  • Deliver communication and consultancy support in line with the organization\xc2\xb4s strategic priorities to ensure that audiences receive the support they need to achieve the organization\xc2\xb4s business objectives.
  • Produce timely, high quality and cost-effective key deliverables to support the communications process in accordance with current brand guidelines and Zurich style guide.
Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelors Degree in Communications or Marketing or Journalism or Public Relations and 5 or more years of experience in the Communications or Marketing or Media Relations or Public Relations area
OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Communications or Marketing or Media Relations or Public Relations area
OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree in Communications or Marketing or Journalism or Public Relations and 5 or more years of experience in the Communications or Marketing or Media Relations or Public Relations area
Preferred:
  • Insurance Industry Experience
