Communications Specialist

We are looking for a Communications Professional, regarded by peers as specialist in Communications related matters, with a solid multi-discipline communications competence. Works independently and acts as a reliable point of contact to colleagues. In this role, you will support defining the communications strategy, plan and budget to support the Market\'s business priorities in alignment with the global communications strategy.

This role is an individual contributor, you will be based in Kuala Lumpur and report to Communication Director, ASEAN based in Malaysia.

What you will do

As the Communications Specialist, you will;

  • Support the development and execution of the end to end integrated communications strategy, plan and budget for market MSPI (Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines & Indonesia) with guidance and agreement of the Communications Director, ASEAN and other key stakeholders
  • To assist and contribute in delivering and optimizing internal and external communications strategy that provides clear, informative, engaging and effective and ensure all communications deliverables reach the intended target accordingly
  • Work in close partnership with local/regional marketing & sales teams, business unit technical experts, digital & media agencies to develop communications strategy, create content, deploy and localise Tetra Pak\'s initiatives & campaigns to the market
  • Define, deliver, drive implementation and play a leading role in carrying out the agreed priorities & communication activities locally for the countries and regionally across the market.
  • Contributing toward the development and implementation of the communication activities in respective countries. Communication activities include the following broad areas
  • Digital/social communications (30%) : Includes channel mix management, content calendar coordination, planning and execution. Coordinates all steps of the content development process from ideation to development and distribution. Direct manage external agencies to publish content and community management on social media channels. (Facebook, LinkedIn & Instagram). Working in collaboration with different business units to build digital channels strategy to push out messages as well as create a pull for customers and consumers. Measure and analyze the effectiveness of channel mix, making changes as needed to improve performance.
  • Internal communications (30%): Includes internal channels management, intranet optimisation, message development, planning and execution of town hall meetings and other events, as well as initiatives to engage, mobilise and motivate employees. Providing copywriting, copyediting, publishing, and communications channels maintenance support
  • PR / Media relations (20%): Includes suppaorting the management of media relations, and preparation of supporting materials, press event planning and execution, presentation material development etc. Working with the PR and creative agencies to ensure that core messages, brand essence and the organization\'s value propositions are promoted both internally and externally to relevant audiences. Requires effective leadership in cross-functional coordination in case of a crisis, development of company holding statement, key message & FAQ creation, handling media inquiries, ensuring crisis preparedness etc.
  • Integrated communications coordination (20%): Includes project coordination supporting the business/unit with communications tasks in line with business priorities and communication objectives
We believe you have
  • Relevant degree from a reputed university in Communications/Marketing/ Business Studies.
  • At least 6 years of relevant regional communication experience in Global MNC, preferably from FMCG, sectors with good knowledge of global communication framework, processes and approach.
  • Strong social/digital communication and corporate communications experience.
  • Project management and leadership experience.
  • Good command in English to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong editorial and writing skills in English. Other languages will be a plus
  • Results oriented; able to establish clear expectations, objectives and priorities, set aggressive but achievable goals and track progress.
  • Business minded, able to understand the dimensions of the region and market company strategy, activities and direction.
  • Highly driven, self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Able to multitask and manage multiple stakeholders
  • A strong team player with an ability to work in a diverse virtual environment
