  • The Compliance Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards within the organization.
  • This position will work closely with various departments to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Regulatory Compliance:
  • Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), Bursa Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Department of Environment (DOE), Ministry of Housing and Local Government, Fire and Rescue Department and others).
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
  • Develop and implement compliance training programs for employees.
  • Provide guidance and support to departments in understanding andadhering to regulatory requirements.
Policy Development and Enforcement:
  • Assist in the development, review, and update of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure effective implementation and enforcement of compliance policies.
  • Conduct investigations into suspected violations of compliance policies and procedures.
Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks throughout the organization.
  • Develop and maintain a compliance risk management framework.
  • Monitor and report on compliance risk indicators.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote a strong compliance culture.
  • Provide advice and support to management on compliance-related matters.
Reporting and Documentation :Regulatory Compliance Management
  • Engage with respective People Responsible for Compliance (PRC) to understand and record the relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Compile regulatory requirements and sort the requirements by act and clauses.
  • Create a compliance checklist for each PRC based on the requirements discussed.
  • Circulate the compliance checklist to the PRC via email.
Compliance Activity Planning
  • Prepare the annual compliance activities.
  • Present the annual compliance plan to BARC & ERMC for approval.
Compliance Assessment and Validation
  • Complete Compliance Self-Assessment (CSA) checklist and submit the completed checklist to Governance Department (GD).
  • Based on the response given, conduct Compliance Verification Audit (CVA).
  • Auditor will be assigned by Governance Department (GD).
  • Organise a CVA closure meeting to present all findings throughout the CVAsession to ensure the findings and the necessary action plan is agreed on.
  • Record allthe finalised findings and action plan in the Compliance Report.
Quarterly Compliance Reporting
  • On a quarterly basis, compile the Compliance results of the quarter, including previous and ongoing Compliance findings.
  • Follow up with respective PRC for updates on agreed action plans and compliance closure.
  • Provide status updates of action plan to GD for reporting purposes.
  • Based on the feedback, update the Quarterly Compliance Report. The contents of the Quarterly. Compliance Report will be reviewed by the Head of GD.
  • Once updates are agreed on, finalise the Quarterly Compliance Report.
  • Update all the Compliance quarterly results in CURA system.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Certification in compliance (eg, Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance or regulatory role, pra eferably in the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Malaysian regulatory landscape, particularly in relation to the securities and capital markets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficent in using compliance management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting techniques.
  • Strong ethical and integrity standards.
