Construction Ehs Manager

Job Description

SUMMARY:

Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of safe execution of construction activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations

Advises client management on safety and environmental compliance concerns and preventative actions.

Plans and implements training for employees and contractors in work site safety practices.

Maintains safety files and records

Performs safety/environmental surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

Conducts post accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.

Assist, set up and conducts training.

Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.

Assist and maintain required environmental reports.

Extensive experience in Malaysia especially related to relevant authorities such as DOSH, DOE, municipality etc.

Excellent Computer, communication and training skills

Have prior experience managing a small team of EHS site supervisors

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience in EH&S and knowledge of related regulations, codes, and guidelines.

Typically requires
10 years prior experience in EH&S including supervision.

Requires comprehensive understanding and knowledge of health and safety issues within the manufacturing environment.

Emergency medical certification and Hazmat desired.

Integrated system certification activities such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001,and Responsible Business Alliance code of Conducts.

Good in analytical, team player and independent.

Registered with JKKP SHO certification (Green Book Holder)
