Job description

Role:

  • Lead planning, implementing, monitoring and optimizing operational processes in the areas of environmental management, health protection and occupational safety in compliance with local regulation as well as division and corporate EHS policies.
  • Drive EHS continuous improvement towards a safer working environment and promote good environmental governance.
  • Overall responsible for Plant facilities, M&E, C&S work, housekeeping of the plant.
  • Management of hostel, cafeteria and company transport for employees.
Responsibilities:
  • Establish EHS policies and directions.
  • Plan EHS initiatives to support organization value creation activities in compliance with local EHS authorities, relevant government agency requirements and also ISO14001 EMS & ISO45001 OHSAS standards.
  • Align and incorporate division and corporate EHS directives.
  • Lead and work with various department/functions in executing EHS compliance activities.
  • Management Representative on environmental, occupational health and safety matters.
  • Liaison with Regulatory Body audit/surveillance.
  • External Certification Body audit.
  • Liaise with customer on EHS enquiry and audit.
  • Lead EHS team to review and ensure good governance in environmental care and occupational health & safety of fellow workers.
  • Work with various Competent Person to ensure timely monitoring of EHS performance including submission to government agency and develop program to reduce the risk and hazard.
  • Organize and update plant EHS performance.
  • Chairman (management representative) of MXL EHS Committee.
  • Review safety needs, compliance information and site inspection.
  • Drive improvement action.
  • Work with Safety Officer to drive and ensure safe environment for working place.
  • Proactively review unsafe conditions or potential hazard and get area owner to take appropriate action.
  • Identify and implement industry best practices.
  • Promote EHS awareness and behavioral safety plantwide.
  • Facility Security Coordinator for MXL.
  • Lead and drive premise security program.
  • Site BCP Coordinator.
  • Coordinate business contingency and emergency situation within MXL plant.
  • Support and contribute to company initiatives on Social Responsibility, Global Lean Six Sigma, etc.
  • Undertake other duties or responsibilities assigned by supervisor from time to time.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for plant facilities, hostel, company transport, cafeteria operations.
  • Upkeep the facility in a tip-top condition, suitable and comfortable working environment.
  • To establish key indicators for facilities and housekeeping.
  • Responsible for plant wide building maintenance, landscaping and sanitation system.
  • To work with M&E, C&S contractor on plant renovation and extension project
  • Responsible in meeting all regulatory standards.
  • Responsible for energy conservation program.
  • Ensure ethical and accurate reporting of company records.
  • Using best business practice to improve efficiency, by reducing operating costs while increasing productivity and reducing and minimizing downtime and core business activities.
  • Support company\'s initiatives on Social Responsibilities, TS16949, ISO9001/14001, TOM, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
  • Management of hostel for foreign workers, cafeteria and company transport.
  • Ensure cleanliness of hostel and cafeteria in compliance to EICC and local authority, ensure company transport in compliance with local authority,
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • 10 years related working experience of EHS & Facilities management in manufacturing environment or related industries, with 5 years in management position.
  • Highly organized and multi-tasking
  • Exposure to RBA code of conduct (Preferred)
  • Good coordination and public relation skills in dealing with Government related agencies (Preferred)
  • Professional engineer, registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Institute of Engineer (IEM) (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EQA and other regulatory requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work on public holiday and as when required to perform duties after working hours and attend to emergency request when necessary.
  • Minimum Degree qualification in technical or science discipline
  • Broad Knowledge of ISO 14001 EMS & ISO45001 OSHMS or equivalent
  • Academic qualification in environmental, health & safety.
  • (Preferred)Degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
  • (Preferred)Location - Perai Penang
