We are seeking a talented Construction Engineer to join our dynamic team at Fairview Development Sdn. Bhd. in Kajang, Selangor. As a Construction Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful completion of our construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
What you'll be doing
A
Construction Engineer
's scope involves the planning, design and oversight of construction projects ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently and within budget. In essence a Construction Engineer focused on the practical execution of construction projects on-site and acting as a bridge between the design phase and the construction phase - working closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders. They work primarily on the construction site, managing and coordinating the physical construction process.
Core Competency Requirement:
Degree in
Civil Engineering, Civil Structure, Construction Engineering
or a related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience, with track record of project completion including high-rise construction project and some involvement in land banking stage, earthwork and DLP period
Proven track record in managing site construction works, contractor supervision, and engineering coordination.
Proven experience managing civil, M&E works, and multi-disciplinary contractors at construction sites.
Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, structural principles and engineering standards.
Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations in the construction sector.
Fluent in Malay and Chinese language both written and spoken to communicate with Authorities, contractors and foreign workers, with fluency in English as advantageous.
Excellent leadership and coordination skills under fast-paced project timelines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD packages.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Design: Be part of and supervise
the initial stages of projects, including feasibility assessments, site investigations and the development of project plans/designs.
Cost Estimation and Budget Management: R
esponsible for preparing cost estimates, managing project budgets and billings, and ensuring that projects stay within the allocated funds.
Scheduling and Sequencing: P
lan, schedule and monitor construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time and in the proper sequence.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: O
versee construction processes, ensure compliance with regulations, building codes and perform quality checks/inspections to avoid on-site wastages. Including the handling of all materials / product storage in accordance with the SOP.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: I
dentify and resolve issues that arise during construction, such as design flaws, personnel/tools/material shortages, or unforeseen circumstances.
Communication and Collaboration:
They work closely with architects, contractors, subcontractors, clients, local/foreign workers and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project.
Documentation and Reporting: M
aintain detailed records of project progress, documentation, and reports ensuring that all aspects of the project are well documented - including conducting post-project analysis to identify areas needing improvement.
