Come be a part of this journey!BAT KL IS LOOKING FOR A CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ASSISTANT MANAGERSENIORITY LEVEL: ManagementFUNCTION: GBS Legal and External AffairsSALARY RANGE: Market salary + Excellent benefits + Market leading bonusLOCATION: Sunway Geo, Kuala LumpurROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVESThe Continuous Improvement Assistant Manager is responsible for analyzing, managing and improving the legal department\'s processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity, ensuring the Legal team delivers high quality contracts support to the end markets (\xe2\x80\x9cEMs\xe2\x80\x9d). This role will work closely with the legal team to identify and analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to optimize performance and includes without limitation, tracking and measuring the effectiveness of these improvements and monitoring productivity.Reports to: Continuous Improvement Senior ManagerReporting Level: N/AWHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • The Continuous Improvement Assistant Manager is a member of the DBS Legal team in Malaysia, reporting to a Senior Legal/Continuous Improvement Manager.
  • He/she will be working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and will be expected to engage confidently and effectively with EM Legal teams and other stakeholders.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency and develop process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and facilitate process improvement workshops and meetings to gather feedback, insights, and ideas from the legal/contracts team.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure effective integration of legal processes with other departments.
  • Provide training and support to legal/contracts team members on new processes, tools, and technologies to optimize their performance and productivity.
  • Providing updates and reports on various dashboards under the contracts department.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of process improvements, collecting and analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for further optimization.
  • Analyze processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reduction opportunities, and work with the Legal team.
  • Design and implement process improvements, including standardizing workflows, streamlining procedures, and automating repetitive tasks.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, guidelines, and training materials to facilitate consistent and efficient execution of legal tasks.
  • Support the legal/contracts team in managing and prioritizing projects, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop and apply standardized processes and documentation to support simplification, improve productivity and reduce complexity.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in process improvement and project management type roles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and identify key areas for improvement.
  • Strong understanding of contracts processes, procedures, and workflows.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified with demonstrated experience working with quality tools commonly used for process improvement, planning and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work effectively under pressure and to cope with unexpected and varied demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in using productivity and data analysis tools, e.g. Excel (Macros), Planner, Power Automate, PowerBI; and project management tools
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong drive for continuous improvement and learning.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and flexible attitude, with sound commercial judgment
  • Experience leading or facilitating workshops, e.g. user requirement gathering workshop, brainstorming workshop etc.
  • Experience in the legal industry or in-house legal departments is advantageous.
