Contract For ServiceLocation: Malaysia (MY), Sarawak Energy (SEB)Company: Sarawak Energy Berhad, Contract & Procurement - Capital Works (50034006), International Ventures & KalTara (50034281),Number of Openings: 1Job Category: ContractClosing Date: 14 June 2024SCOPE OF SERVICES:The Contract & Procurement department has the overall responsibility to:

  • Manage the pre and post contracts for International Venture projects and collaborate with the project teams front end and Project Delivery in the process.
  • Ensure compliance wiath governance in executing all Contract & Procurement activities and deliverable in line with International Venture Procurement Policies and Procedures.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement in the way the contracting and procurement activities are to be adhered t
  • Support Contract Manager:
I. Develop contract & procurement strategies in collaboration with technical disciplines
II. Conduct market surveys, prequalification of consultants & contractors.
III. Conduct tender evaluation and negotiation.
  • Commercial:
I. Assist in handling all commercial matters related to contracts.
II. Coordinate the preparation of progress payments, variation orders, provisional sum items, variations of prices for selected materials, and other commercial claims.
  • Contract Administration:
I. Support the senior and manager in the execution of contract administration matters, focusing on preliminaries & general conditions, as well as general provisions and conditions stated in contracts.
II. Maintain accurate records on-site, documenting details of delays, agreed variations, and other data necessary for the evaluation of E.O.T (Extension of Time) and cost.
III. Clarify any errors and anomalies found in the contracts Drawings and Documents
IV. Assist in ensuring compliance with all procedures and processes for verification of provisional items and additional works.THINKING ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES (PROBLEM-SOLVING):
  • Meticulous attention to detail and understanding of contractual obligation.
  • Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for joint ventures
  • Effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytic and negotiation skills
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE (KNOW-HOW):
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business, and other relevant disciplines.
  • 2-3 years proven capability in contract management.
  • Experienced in handling contract administration work (both pre & post award) for construction projects.
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in contractual management, particularly on contract changes, claims, dispute, etc.
  • Good command of English both spoken and written.
  • Good knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia would be an advantage.
