SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• Conduct site evaluations to ensure contractor design meet SEB standards.
• Ensure timely review of engineering drawings and communicate effectively with the contractor.
• Perform on-site quality surveillance, ensuring strict adherence to approved engineering drawings during construction.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to transmission line electrical components and systems.
• Develop initial design concepts for new transmission lines and modifications to existing where needed in compliance with relevant international standards such as IEC, IEEE.
• Assess the impact of proposed designs on the existing power system and recommend necessary upgrades or changes.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, perform tender technical evaluation and report.

THINKING ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES (PROBLEM-SOLVING):

• Equipment and switchyard layout principle.
• Familiar with engineering calculation, design and engineering drawings.
• Able to inspect drawings with attention to details to identify errors or potential issues that may arise.
• Clear communication with the design and project team to resolve any issues that may arise.
• Ability to think critically and propose engineering techniques to solve problems or make design recommendations
• Understand relevant engineering standards (IEC, IEEE etc.) related to switchyard design and equipment design.

QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE (KNOW-HOW):

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia.
• A minimum of one year's experience in EHV substation switchyard and control building layout design is preferred.
• Good communication skills. Can communicate effectively with key stake holders such as project teams and asset owners.
• Decision making skill. Able to make firm decisions based on a strong engineering foundation.
