SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• Be responsible for the laboratory\'s certification according to MS ISO/IEC 17025 as well as future MS ISO/IEC 17025 scope extensions of chemical testing and certification.
• Implement and maintain laboratory management system as per MS ISO/IEC 17025. Enhance its effectiveness of implementation of the management system.
• Set up oil testing protocols according to recognized international standards. Be responsible for adding certain testing norms under the scope of ISO 17025 and compile all the required documents including method verification, method validation and uncertainty measurement (MU), calibration and maintaining calibration records.
• Maintain a good understanding of the international standards related to insulating and lubricant oil analysis and keep upper management informed about all relevant changes and requirements.
• Act as the primary contact for SAMM on all matters of accreditation relating to chemical testing.
• Train laboratory employees in MS ISO/IEC 17025 and carry out periodic auditing on work processes and feedback to Lab Manager and recommend changes/improvements if needed.
• Support with timely investigation of customer complaints and other sources of nonconforming work.
• To monitor completion of corrective and preventive actions arising from audits and records maintenance.
• Ensure that all controlled quality procedures, test methods and documents are kept confidential and access to the laboratory remains restricted at all times.

THINKING ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES (PROBLEM-SOLVING):

• The area of analytical chemistry and instrumentation is still under development and advancement, and this need effort to familiarize with a wide range of analytical methods and equipment for conducting transformer oil, lubricating oil and not limited to water analysis.
• Excellent knowledge of MS ISO/IEC 17025 requirements of laboratory management system which includes development of equipment calibration and maintenance program, QA/QC procedures, measurement uncertainty estimation and method validation & verification procedures.

QUALIFICATION:

• Recognized Bachelor\'s, Master\'s or Ph.D degree in Chemistry or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Member of Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) with ChM title.
• Minimum 4 years working experiences in chemical laboratory along with ISO 17025 experience in the field of chemistry as well as operating testing instruments/equipment.
