Control and Instrument Engineer

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Enabling factory automation solutions to aid manufacturing goals on Digitalization, Innovation, quality and productivity improvement.

Collaborate with global automation, key equipment group, site process and equipment engineering, procurement, safety EHS for surfacing opportunities, prioritize key initiatives, collaborating with solution providers, execute the implementation plan, reviewing safety standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Drive the innovation process, research, planning and managing Automation and Digitalization projects
• Plan, troubleshoot and supervise maintenance activities of SCADA/PLC systems for process control.
• Prepare technical specifications for quotations/open tenders for SCADA development and Digitalization work.
• Productivity improvement / daily management / risk management / cost reduction through dashboard design.
• Works with Engineers, Designers and Partners to develop concepts designs for Digitalization and Automation.
• Apply appropriate problem solving tools, 8D, 5 Whys for RCCA
• Design or Troubleshoot programming for automation and control system involving PLC/Touch Screens/SCADA
• Provide high-quality design, specification, scope, cost estimates and troubleshoot instrumentation control systems for any improvement projects on-site
• Investigate, recommend, initiate and implement safe changes for any improvement on any instrumentation process automation hardware/ software solutions
• Liaison with equipment suppliers, service provider & worldwide counterpart pertaining to any instrument and controls issues

• Key decisions pertaining to documentation of projects and looking into the details and updates from stakeholders.
• Decisions pertaining to improvement of projects and developing project management processes.

CAPABILITIES; QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Capabilities:

• Technical Expertise in Automation and Instrumentation including PLC Programming / SCADA.
• A passion for new technology

Qualifications And Experiences.

• Min. Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics)
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in Engineering, Instrumentation and Control system
• Good understanding of project planning, project management basic functions and technical planning.
• Communication and presentation skills
• Analytical skills for reports & statistics
• Ability to assess project updates from stakeholders and escalate based on priorities to the respected stakeholder
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and work in a team environment when needed. Individual and team contributor that has good interpersonal skills

ANY OTHER INFORMATION

Travelling will be occasionally required (inter MHC plants and suppliers)
