Job Description

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of foods according to recipes and quality standards, ensuring all dishes are delivered in a timely and consistent manner. The Cook also maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary work station and adheres to all food safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities and Duties



Food Preparation & Cooking:

Prepare and cook menu items, individual dishes, and meals following established recipes, portion controls, and standards. Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients, equipment, and supplies. Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, peeling, and seasoning meat, fish, and vegetables. Operate a variety of kitchen equipment (e.g., grills, ovens, fryers, slicers) safely and efficiently. Check food quality, temperature, and taste during preparation and cooking. Garnish and plate dishes to ensure appealing presentation. Adapt recipes to meet special dietary needs or customer requests (as required).

Kitchen Operations & Sanitation:

Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils throughout the shift. Follow all food health and safety procedures and regulations, including proper handling, storage, and rotation of food items. Monitor and record food temperatures to prevent spoilage. Assist with the unloading, storage, and organization of food and supply deliveries.

Teamwork & Inventory:

Collaborate effectively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, other cooks, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service. Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the manager or chef for ordering. Assist in training or mentoring junior kitchen staff, if applicable.

Qualifications and Skills



Proven experience as a Cook, Prep Cook, or in a similar role in a professional kitchen environment. Solid knowledge of cooking methods, techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment. Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Excellent attention to detail, especially regarding food presentation and quality. High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plus.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
