About the role

The Network Specialist role will be responsible for the infrastructure scope within the Network domain. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, this role will provide solutions and support to all Amcor locations within APAC (also supporting locations globally where needed). The Network Specialist will develop, maintain, and enforce standards, while also coordinating and implementing agreed upon solutions, across all Business Groups.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Co-ordination and implementation of agreed and approved solutions across the Business Groups in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Work closely with IT personnel both at a regional and local level to produce appropriate solutions to business problems
  • To develop, maintain and enforce standards across all Business Groups and prepare presentations to substantiate the need for these guidelines where appropriate
  • Evaluation of service providers in all aspects of the projects that require external resource to implement
  • To leverage new functionality from existing and new systems to improve reliability and the features/functions available to the business and develop a business case and implementation plan
  • Management of tickets assigned to Network Team in APAC, to ensure an effective level of support
  • Be a key player of the regional IT Operations team to ensure a stable and efficient network environment
  • Responsible for the implementation, configuration, management and monitoring of network infrastructure
  • Management of security rules applied on firewalls and proxies
  • Management of the tools used to monitor the network equipment\'s and servers
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot network related issues
  • Co-ordination of incidents and changes between Amcor and external partners
  • Be a subject matter expert, providing recommendations in areas of networking solutions
  • Collaborate and work closely with other members of the IT Operations team.
  • Contribute and participate in global, regional and local infrastructure projects
  • Adhere to Infrastructure Service Delivery methodologies and Enterprise Architecture global standards
  • Management of general network related documentation and knowledge base articles
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or equivalent experience/studies
  • 5+ years technical experience in a IT Networking
  • Operate and manage Data Centres architecture and services
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP on \xe2\x80\x9cRouting and Switching\xe2\x80\x9d is required
  • Any other Cisco/Fortigate/Juniper/Bluecoat/Motorola certifications are a plus
  • ITIL certificate will be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure subjects, technological trends and innovation
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure solutions
  • LAN switches (Cisco)
  • Video conferencing devices (Cisco)
  • VOIP (Cisco)
  • Wireless equipments (Cisco/Motorola/Extreme)
  • Firewall management (Fortigate and Cisco ASA)
  • Proxy server management (Fortigate and Bluecoat)
  • IPSEC VPN solutions (Fortigate and Cisco)
  • RAS VPN solutions (Juniper SSL)
  • Loadbalancer, Global DNS
  • Monitoring (Solarwinds, BaseN)
  • Solid hands-on experience within a Network environment
  • Good understanding of XaaS (intended as Software as a Service, Platform as a Service and Infrastructure as a Service)
  • Good understanding of Data Centre architectures, including Storage Area Network, clustering, High Availability, backup
  • Good understanding of systems monitoring and experience in setting up monitoring tools
  • Good understanding of cloud hosting platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and hands on experience in setting up virtual networks within cloud-hosted services
  • Experienced in project management advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high throughput business environment
  • Excellent organisation skills; able to plan, organise and prioritise workload
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels in English
  • Willingness to learn and be adaptable to the changing requirements of the job
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a remote team with high degree of self sufficiency
  • Required to travel overseas may be required
