Industry: Manufacturing Engineering Location: Bangi (need own transport) Tenure: Permanent Remuneration: Attractive Basic + Transport allowance Overview: Costing Engineer conduct studies to determine the feasibility, costs, or performance benefits of new projects Role and responsibilities Communicate, transferring and consolidating customer\'s design, BOM, technical drawings, specifications, and documents into RFQ package for costing purposes. Communicating and coordinating with commercial team or customer, technical review team and sourcing team for any discrepancy, missing information and technical issues related to drawings and builds. Influences and finetunes designs to reduce manufacturing cost from initial concept and throughout the product lifecycle Understand the manufacturing landscape, capabilities, limitations, technologies available and emerging to produce parts. Have a pulse on how things are made and how they will be made in the future Review and evaluate price variance requests from sales or customers. Utilise cost methodologies and tools and appropriate software models and packages to prepare and maintain reliable and accurate data Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to improve system/part cost, costing models, RFQ analysis, and cost negotiations Develop detailed reports on cost/price analysis, including recommending standard cost adjustments Qualification Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic or similar Engineering field. Minimum 5 years\' experience and practices in high precision Industrial Machinery & Equipment industry. Able to read and interpret engineering / manufacturing drawings, knowledge of geometric dimension and tolerance standard. Knowledgeable in 3D CAD tools e.g.: Solid Works, NX, ProE Creo, Inventor etc knowledge in advance manufacturing methodology like 4/5 axis milling machining, turn-mill/mill-turn machining, welding (Laser, Fiction Stir Weld, E-Beam), additive manufacturing, manufacturing automation / robotization, industrial 4.0, etc. Has excellent analytical and simulation skills for product costs calculation. Professional communication and convincing skills. Experiences on reporting cost validations, opportunities, and risks. Ability to work in a team environment, extremely well-organized and able to consistently meet stringent deadlines of multiple RFQs while working with minimal supervision and sometimes minimal information.
