This position reports to the BU Controller. An important role in assisting the BU Controller on key detailed analysis, resolution of key processing, controls and accounts issues, and monitoring statutory and government compliance. The role has a highly high-intensive interaction between internal stakeholders as well as outside key partners such as distributors, vendors, bankers, consultants (PwC and KPMG, GT, IRAS) and different regulatory bodies.
Leads the review and analysis of consolidated financial results of the Market Unit to facilitate assessment and performance reviews, issues identification, and development of corrective action plans.
Monitors compliance with the Statutory and Government submissions and coordinates with the 3rd party tax service provider and IBM (Shared service outsourced team).
Support Asia Snacks markets (including Co-packing, Co\xe2\x80\x93man, and Quaker trading businesses) in Asia Region by providing timely, accurate and cost-effective financial and management reporting in accordance with local requirements and PEP policies.
Drives best practices across the financial accounting and financial services teams. This will include process improvement and re-design, challenging the status quo, and building a close working relationship with the key leaders in the business and the SSC BPO.
Supports the BU Controller in providing effective accounting guidance on business issues and initiatives, including business support.
Support HR for HQ ERC cost allocation from Singapore, MY to other APAC markets
Leads the review and analysis in IT hub crossed charged and ensures billing and collection process are in line to protect and manage cashflow risks
Responsible for maintaining a strong internal control environment and implementing and overseeing efficient, well-controlled financial transaction processing systems.
Act as center of expertise (COE) in providing effective accounting guidance on business issues and initiatives, on all, financial accounting and controls-related matters
Lead and coordinate monthly closing and reporting process
Ensure all income statements, balance sheets, cash flow adjustments and validations analyses are reviewed prior to submitting results to Sector covering MU and IT financial
Manages the financial reporting (covering Financial Reporting & Fixed Assets) and financial services (AR, AP & Payroll) processes focusing on the provision of accurate and timely reporting (including PepsiCo, IRAS etc) through establishing/maintaining accounting policies and practices to deliver accurate and reliable information for business operations/decision and control optimization
Perform balance sheet review and provide recommendations on long outstanding balances
Reviewed IT crossed charges balance and provided recommendations on long outstanding balances
Prepare and provide management comments on the cause of change in profit & loss (P&L), operating cash flow (OCF), and key performance indexes (KPIs) for Snacks / Quaker operation and cash flow management for IT Hub
Prepare and present, if needed, to the senior Leadership Team monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages and variance analysis (HFM, reports, compliance documents, and presentations)
Coordinate ad hoc requests and become a business point of contact on any inquiries/reporting regarding reported numbers and business drivers to BU/Sector
Manages the effectiveness of the day-to-day financial transactional activities outsourced to IBM through review of key reports and metrics
Manages the preparation and review of various external reporting requirements (e.g. Statutory accounts, tax returns, payroll tax, withholding taxes, final taxes and business permits, etc) to ensure that they have been accurately prepared
Financial process management
Ensure financial policies/guidelines implemented in the market
Primary liaison for communication and updates or resolution of key accounting, reporting and control issues between MU and BU/IBM/Sector
Lead assessment of impact to MU of any changes in accounting treatment (e.g., revenue recognition, lease accounting)
Manages the retained activities (FR, FA, AR & AP) of the responsible MUs. Drives continuous process review for potential productivity improvements.
Support MU implementation of best practices financial tools that improve accuracy, timelines and cost-effectiveness of financial transaction processing and reporting, which are responsive to the needs of customers, suppliers and internal partners
Coordinate with Supply chain to prepare recons with Co-man/ Co\xe2\x80\x93packer on costing variances and ensure balances reflected are correct
Coordinate with Reporting controller to track and report PTR and drive corrective actions
As FR, OTC, PTP control owner, perform control roles and responsibilities in accordance with PepsiCo Accountability model. Support Process Owner in driving GCS agenda. Understand the objective of the assigned control(s) and document the test script attributes for effective execution of the control, evaluate control effectiveness through testing as per GCS guidelines and maintain an audit trail to evidence execution of the activities. Ensure timely remediation of any control deficiencies.
Lead implementation of PepsiCo risk management initiatives and best practices
Credit Collection
Risk assessed the financial impact on Distributors creditability over the nonroutine incident (e.g., economic, political, natural disaster in emerging country)
Ensure proper credit limits and risk profiles are defined for every customer / Distributor
Support BU Controller in annual credit limit review of Distributors, and alignment with MUs on credit limits. Obtain approvals on credit limits as per SOA and communicate to commercial leads
Ensure close monitoring of receivables and close collaboration with Commercial leads to recover overdue receivables

Be a point on the invoicing process and issuance of credit/debit notes
Collaborates with the Corporate Treasury on the cash mobilization plan for PEP
Qualifications:
8+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Financial Accounting and US / IFRS GAAP standards
SAP and relevant system applications
Ability to prioritize and function efficiently with tight deadlines
Ability to work cross-functionally, cross-geographically, and across multiple cultures.
Strong internal and external communicator, influencer, and negotiator.
Ability to set and prioritize objectives to be Faster, Stronger, and Better.
Bachelor of Accounting/Finance subject. A postgraduate qualification is preferable.
