In a nutshell
We're seeking a Country Manager for Malaysia to lead the growth and ongoing success of the GemBet brand within the Malaysian market.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the overall business strategy, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and building strong partnerships that enhance GemBet's market positioning.
You'll oversee the full scope of operations in Malaysia, from commercial strategy and marketing performance to player engagement and retention, while working closely with our Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure strong alignment across the business.
The responsibilities & the impact YOU will have:

• Lead GemBet's operations and market strategy for Malaysia, ensuring alignment with global business goals.
• Define and execute growth strategies to drive market share, brand awareness, and player acquisition.
• Build and maintain partnerships with key local stakeholders, affiliates, and payment providers.
• Oversee local marketing initiatives, product localization, and promotional activities.
• Ensure full compliance with local gaming regulations, advertising policies, and payment practices.
• Manage the country's performance metrics, budgets, and reporting to regional leadership.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Represent the brand in the local market, fostering strong relationships with partners and communities.

All you need is...

• Proven experience as country manager or in business development, marketing, market management within iGaming, sportsbook, or online casino.
• Deep understanding of Malaysian gaming culture, player behavior, and local payment systems.
• Strong knowledge of local regulations and compliance practices in online gaming.
• Experience in localized marketing and community engagement.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English, Malaysian, and Mandarin.
• Analytical, results-driven mindset with problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
• Flexibility to operate within EU time zones.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a market relaunch or brand repositioning project.
• Background in data-driven market research or performance optimization.
