The Global IP Network (GIN) Customer Engineer (CE) is responsible for the installation and management of Global IP Network services and network resources, including internet access (IP Transit), ethernet transport, and network security services for NTT customers worldwide. As part of the Customer Engineering team, the Customer Engineer will interact closely with our high profile clients to ensure seamless delivery of GIN services anywhere on our global network.

We are searching for a Customer Engineer to integrate our Global IP Network (GIN) team.

The GIN Customer Engineer (CE) is responsible for the installation and management of Global IP Network services and network resources, including internet access (IP Transit), ethernet transport, and network security services for NTT customers worldwide. As part of the Customer Engineering team, the Customer Engineer will interact closely with our high profile clients to ensure seamless delivery of GIN services anywhere on our global network.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with NTT Sales, Network Operations, Sourcing, and NTT regional staff to provision and support Global IP Network services;
  • Track all aspects of service provisioning and regularly communicate with NTT customers;
  • Manage orders with 3rd party vendors such as collocation and telecom carriers;
  • Troubleshoot service issues including carrier circuit and routing issues (OSI Layers 1/2/3);
  • Configure and validate network configurations;
  • Maintain internet resources for NTT, including evaluation and processing of IP address request, register and maintain RPKI Route Origin Authorizations, maintain WhoIs data (SWIP), register route objects in the NTT Internet Route Registry (IRR) and administrative work with the various Regional Internet Registries (RIR) and National Internet Registries (NIR), including APNIC, ARIN, JPNIC, LACNIC, and RIPE;
  • Engage with network operations on support escalations;
  • Manage network migration work to support network growth;
  • Maintain and update customer data in GIN OSS systems;
  • Attend and participate in industry events, including NANOG and RIPE;
  • Manage or support various special projects and miscellaneous tasks, as requested.

Requirements
  • Language proficiency in English and Japanese
  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in a customer-facing technical role
  • Proven abilities in networking, including knowledge and experience with WAN and LAN technologies, such as primarily Ethernet (GE, 10GE, 100GE), routing protocols (Border Gateway Protocol \xe2\x80\x93 BGP), router configuration (including hands-on experience with Cisco IOSXR and Juniper JunOS routers), Domain Name Service (DNS) configuration, IP addressing and telecom circuit and cross-connect troubleshooting
  • Experience managing orders with 3rd party vendors, including troubleshooting and escalating to meet customer requirements
  • Experience with Linux, Windows and MacOS computing environments
Preferred Requirements
  • Flexibility to accommodate work after business hours and on weekends, as needed, to support customer requests
  • Possess strong customer service, problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in the areas of engineering, computer science, information systems or equivalent work experience
