DESCRIPTIONAmazon Web Services (AWS) rapidly growing and is looking for a Data Center Technician to join our growing Infrastructure Operations team. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced technology company and a data centre industry leader. This position will contribute to the overall availability and reliability of data centre operations in order to meet or exceed defined service levels. This position entails hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and participation in an on-call rotation. All candidates must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Prioritisation of work, organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are all necessary for success. Candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and solve problems in the Data Center Space in addition to hardware and network repair. This team works in a 24-hour-a-day environment. Candidates participate in the recruiting process and train new team members; review junior techs\'/vendors\' work for quality, completeness, and effectiveness; and, if necessary, participate in continuous improvement efforts to eliminate process inefficiencies.Key job responsibilities
You remove customer constraints for IT Infrastructure capacity hosted in AWS Data Centers, engage in physical data center activities. This includes all tasks associated with rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware breakfix, software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning.
These activities include the following:
Strong work ethics and works well in a team
Work in shifts to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).
Experience using Linux and Windows systems
PC/Server hardware breakfix experience
Basic networking switching and routing experience
Cable copper and fiber experience
Experience with problem ticket tracking, prioritization, and escalation procedures
Experience or basic understanding of maintenance windows / change management systems - policy, process, and procedure
English proficiency (verbal and written) at a level that enables daily tasks
BA/BS in technical field or equivalent practical experience
Understand and follow Safety and Security policies in a workplace
Ability to lift and move 20 kg of equipment

Understanding of network hardware, design, protocols and troubleshooting.
Linux certification and/or administration experience - RHCSA/RHCE, LPIC, Linux+
Understanding of storage devices.
Network certification - CCENT/CCNA, Network+
3~4 year experience troubleshooting server hardware issues from multiple vendors
Scripting skills - Bash, Python, Perl, etc.
Project coordination/management experience
