Responsibilities

Architect and build robust data systems and frameworks capable of handling high-volume datasets and supporting real-time analytics. Gather, extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources--databases, data warehouses and data lakes. Uphold data quality and consistency via validation and cleansing processes, while implementing strong data security and privacy controls. Work closely with data scientists, analysts and business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and ensure they have the appropriate data access. Design, build and maintain ETL workflows, data pipelines, and other integration tools and technologies. Perform data modelling and database schema design, and fine-tune data structures and queries for high performance and scalability. Monitor and maintain the data infrastructure, ensuring systems are running efficiently, reliably and with maximum availability. Stay current with emerging data-engineering tools and methodologies, and evaluate new technologies as needed. Participate actively in team meetings, code reviews and other collaborative routines to ensure successful implementation of data infrastructure.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (required); Master's degree preferred. Deep understanding of data management and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Spark, etc.). At least 8 years of experience working with data-integration technologies including ETL, data pipelines and data warehousing. Strong programming skills in Python and Java. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of tackling complex data engineering challenges. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Capable of managing multiple projects and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
