Job Overview:

As a Data Engineer at Fave Malaysia, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data platform infrastructure. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the availability, reliability, and performance of our data systems. In addition to your expertise in data engineering, you will bring experience working in Agile & Kanban methodologies to ensure the team delivers high-quality data solutions in a fast-paced working environment.

As a Data Engineer, you will:-

• Design, develop, and maintain the data platform infrastructure, focusing on efficient data ingestion, processing, storage, and retrieval.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics, and product teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions.
• Implement and optimize data pipelines and workflows using technologies such as PySpark, Apache Spark, or other data analytics and processing frameworks.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data platform.
• Perform data modeling and database design to support analytics and reporting needs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data processing and performance.
• Embrace a modernized mindset to drive innovation and explore new technologies and best practices in data engineering.
• Work in an Agile environment, actively participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Thrive in a fast-paced working style, adapting to changing priorities and delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the data engineering field.

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the data platform field, preferably in a similar role.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, PySpark, SQL, or Java.
• Proficiency in PySpark for data processing and analytics.
• Experience with data warehouse technologies such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflakes or DataBricks.
• Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration techniques.
• Knowledge of database systems and query optimization.
• Understanding of cloud-based platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven experience working in Scrum or Kanban methodologies, collaborating effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to think with a modernized mindset, embracing innovation and new technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
