We are looking for an experienced

Senior Data Scientist

to join our

Risk & Control Analytics

team. The role focuses on applying advanced analytics, Machine Learning, and Generative AI to enhance risk management, decision-making, and operational efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a subject matter expert in

advanced analytics

, including

Machine Learning, NLP, Generative AI/BI, and Network Link Analytics

Identify, design, and socialize analytics and AI use cases aligned with business and risk objectives Lead the development and implementation of

ML, NLP, and GenAI models

for proactive risk identification and early detection Oversee end-to-end model lifecycle including development, UAT, pilot runs, and deployment Monitor and evaluate model performance to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement Prepare comprehensive

model documentation

, technical specifications, and user guides Collaborate closely with stakeholders across business, risk, and technology teams Stay updated with emerging AI technologies and industry best practices Maintain high standards of

risk management, governance, and data integrity

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or above in

Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Actuarial Science, AI/ML

, or equivalent

7+ years

of experience in analytical and statistical modeling roles

Strong proficiency in SAS (minimum 5 years)

Proficient in

Python

Hands-on experience with

Machine Learning, NLP, GenAI/BI, LLMs, RAG

Experience in

data mining, segmentation, and large-scale data handling

Familiarity with

Big Data platforms

(SAS, Oracle BDA, etc.) Exposure to

cloud platforms

such as

AWS or Azure

Experience working in an

Agile environment

Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred / Added Advantage

Prior experience in

banking or financial institutions

Experience in

risk analytics, control functions, or regulatory domains

Professional certification such as

Chartered Banker

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,328.28 - RM14,016.78 per month
