The Demand Planner plays a key role in supporting company supply chain efficiency by developing accurate sales forecasts and aligning demand with production and inventory plans. This role ensures that customer needs and market trends are reflected in the forecast, enabling effective business decisions and optimal product availability across all channels.
Key Responsibilities1. Forecasting & Analytics
Develop detailed demand forecasts for ingredients, raw materials, and finished goods by analysing sales trends, promotional activities, customer buying patterns, and market insights.
Integrate data from multiple sources (sales, marketing, and trade channels) to build reliable forecasts across key SKUs.
Identify and explain forecast variances, track forecast accuracy (BIAS & variance), and continuously improve forecast reliability.
Utilise tools such as Excel or planning systems to maintain forecast trackers and reporting dashboards.
Monitor and analyze all stock movements including receipts, transfers, shipments, returns, and adjustments.
2. Business Insight & Collaboration
Work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to incorporate new product launches, campaigns, and customer plans into the forecast.
Liaise with the Operations team on the issuance and tracking of Purchase Orders (POs) to ensure orders are placed accurately and on time according to forecasted demand.
Ensure timely coordination with suppliers and logistics teams to track inbound and outbound shipment status and resolve any delays or discrepancies.
Participate in S&OE and Demand Review meetings, presenting key insights and recommendations.
Provide early visibility of potential supply or demand risks and support mitigation plans.
Collaborate with Supply Planning to ensure sufficient inventory levels and timely replenishment.
Assist with other operational tasks related to supply chain activities as required.
3. Continuous Improvement
Review slow-moving and obsolete stock (SLOB) and propose corrective actions.
Contribute to process improvement projects that enhance forecast accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the supplement and health industry to anticipate trends and consumer shifts.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, or related discipline.
Minimum 2 years of experience in demand or supply planning, preferably within FMCG, health, or nutraceutical industries.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts).
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Highly organized, data-driven, and proactive in problem-solving.
