We are incredibly excited to build a digital bank with the right foundation and core values. We are currently looking for result driven and highly motivated individuals to form the Finance team. Get to know the Role: Provide innovative, customer centric legal support for the development of new banking products (including deposits, payments etc) and ensure robust product diligence process, product documentation and pre/post sales governance of banking products and services. Proactive legal support on the development and operations of the Digibank, including partnering with cross functional teams to identify, analyze and mitigate legal risks for the Digibank in relation to business initiatives, projects and operations. Provide legal support for digibank initiatives such as digital platforms, channels, client lifecycle processes to provide seamless support to the business. Work closely with products, strategy and other teams to structure and negotiate agreements with partners and to manage existing partnership agreements. Lead and coordinate with business, marketing and PR on management of legal risks in customer facing collaterals, and management of terms of use of Digibank platforms. Anticipate the impact of legal and regulatory developments on the business and communicate such impact to the business in conjunction with Compliance. Advise on banking laws in relation to the operations and business of the Digibank. Assist in establishing and maintaining a risk-based approach to assessing, measuring, monitoring, managing and reporting legal risks and undertake ethical considerations in its endeavours. Assist in the review and development of new policies and procedures for the terms on which business is conducted, and processes for managing legal risks arising in the course of business. Advise, structure, draft and negotiate a broad range of complex agreements and other documentation, including agreements with clients, vendors, partners, and consultants. Lead in the development of standard bank documentation and its periodic review, and propose changes ensuring the documents remain appropriate in light of legal, regulatory and market developments. Proactive management support of legal and regulatory risks in sale of products of the Digibank. Drive the development and maintenance of good relationships with internal and external business stakeholders ensuring an open and cooperative environment. Develop clear communication messages, guidance, templates and training and sensitise management, relevant employees and business partners regarding key legal risks. Represent Digibank's interests and interface directly with external counsel, as appropriate. Research legal issues and drafting memos, as appropriate. Ensure compliance with local and regional data protection laws and regulations and provide independent data privacy advice and guidance to business units and support business initiatives from a privacy perspective. Point of contact for individuals, data protection regulatory authorities and internal teams to facilitate and respond to data privacy related enquiries, complaints and requests for withdrawal, access and correction from individuals. To draft and ensure that clauses in contracts, websites, app etc is in accordance data protection laws and regulations including customers, employees, third party etc. The Must-Haves: Law degree and admitted to the Malaysian bar. Minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience (either in a reputable law firm or an established organisation) Extensive experience in corporate and commercial matters, financing, data protection, data privacy and cybersecurity related work A team player with strong ethics and professional integrity. Demonstrated success in thriving in a fast paced and collaborative environment, experiencing rapid growth and expansion. Possess strong ability to assess risks and adopt practical approaches to effectively balance business with compliance requirements Self-driven and highly motivated individual who can work well in a startup VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment.
