What you can Expect:
We are the team Production Artificial Intelligence - Advanced Data Analytics and provide BASF wide solutions for multiple application areas within Production. We cover the entire model lifecycle from development, training, and over deployment to operation. In this context, you will be acting as a driving force in our interdisciplinary team, creating innovative solutions with our internal business partner.
Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of data scientists and solution engineers to design, prototype, deploy, and maintain AI use cases (e.g., Computer Vision or Generative AI).
• Champion continuous solution improvement, from initial deployment to iterative upgrades managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring scalability across different sites.
• Work directly with production-plant colleagues in Ludwigshafen and global regions one-on-one, agile collaborations, ensuring they feel supported and empowered to adopt AI and digital innovations.
• Apply effective change management principles to increase solution adoption, reimagine workflows, and coach colleagues through both communication and training initiatives.
• Develop and spearhead digital strategies and roadmaps in alignment with business objectives, scouting emerging technologies, proposing innovative solutions, and guiding digital transformation efforts.

Requirements:

• You hold a Master or PhD in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field experience in production plants, manufacturing processes, or digital transformation is a plus.
• You have solid project management experience with a proven track record of implementing projects in production environments.
• You already gained working knowledge in the development of complex data science software solutions, preferably cloud-based applications.
• You have good knowledge in machine learning with Python and (graph-)databases and you are experienced in building solutions with cloud technology (Microsoft Azure).
• You are very familiar with technologies around Computer Vision, Generative AI and analytics to process sensor / time-series data.
• Ideally you have working experience in agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and DevOps concepts and working with P&IDs.
• Your profile is completed by your creative and motivated working style with a strong focus on innovation and customers as well as your excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German which define you as an effective team player.
