Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility in accounting and reporting compliance under US GAAP. Leading the APAC accounting team to provide qualified accounting and professional services, including monthly closing, and quarterly Corporate / Regional reporting packages. Steady migrate synergized accounting activities into COE with a right cadence and upgrade service level to support APAC triple size growth over the strategic horizon. Close involvement in business operations, professional support to Business Unit for optimum management decision making. Monitoring the accounting dashboard and finance health card that will drive productivity and improve control through established metrics. Actively support country internal and external audits, offer recommendation for remediation action plans.
  • Has an overall vision/direction of leading the accounting activities in the center of excellence (\'COE\') for APAC finance. Work closely with Global Process Owners, Regional Finance Leaders, maximize the opportunities to synchronize and streamline the decentralized country processes and practice for an optimal JAPAC shared services model.
  • Strong experience in people management, attract, develop and retain accounting talents under a
healthy turnover rate.
  • Comprehensive and In-depth business acumen to identify and manage accounting / operational risks in various markets cross APAC countries. Partnering with legal, compliance and sales operation team, ensure compliance to variety of regulation and policies (Sarbanes-Oxley Act, accounting principles, FCPA, Anti-Trust, etc).
  • Problem solver and strong capacity in \xe2\x80\x9czoom in / zoom out\xe2\x80\x9d and handle complexity under
dynamic/diversified business environment in APAC countries.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Master\'s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
  • Overall acumen of all accounting aspects, US GAAP knowledge.
  • Experience with SOX requirements.
  • 10+ years in leadership of MNC and people management positions.
  • Proficiency in English required; either Japanese or Chinese preferred.
Additional Skills:
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry compliance/regulation preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and interest in building a new organization / business model from the ground up.
  • Expert understanding of financial procedures and / or systems while looking beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills across countries, regions and headquarters.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, database tools, financial systems, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment.
  • Coach/mentor team members.
  • Ability to travel within Asia Pacific.
