Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.JR37363 Director, Accounting & Compliance COE Direct the planning, organization, operations, and administration of in-scope corporate and international accounting functions for the center of excellence Benchmark processes against best-in-class entities and drive process improvement Oversee the transition of additional accounting roles filled in Penang and integrate into the team structure where applicable Responsible for the timely and accurate monthly close processes for all in-scope of Micron entities in accordance with US GAAP while ensuring proper maintenance of statutory financials Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable international and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation, and providing recommendations, as appropriate Responsible for risk identification and mitigation, creating and maintaining process flowcharts for operation effectiveness Focus on Technical Accounting interpretation & application, where applicable including initiate internal control, policy development, research, and documentation Flexible to accommodate new additional activities, job expansion & projects as assign Key Skills/Competencies: Strong team-player with experience working in a dynamic organization and demonstrated ability to build bridges between stakeholders Superior analytical skills, understanding of data privacy, deep understanding of business principles Knowledgeable on accounting practices & complex accounting relating to Lease, Hedging, Pension, Stock Comps, Debts Ability to build and leverage internal networks Ability to manage change sensitively and in a collaborative manner Strong communication and influencing skills Ability to attract, develop and retain outstanding talent Continuously drive continuous efficiency and quality improvements Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and local country accounting standards Proven track record of team development, process efficiency and innovating finance workloads Experience building and expanding a center of excellence is highly preferred SAP experience, including ability to drive efficiencies through automation Ability to succinctly explain financial matters to non-finance personnel Contribute to the global execution of key Global strategic initiatives & projects Demonstrate and maintain a positive customer service focus to both internal and external customers.
