This is a highly impactful senior leader role that offers a variety of career paths into higher level Plexus leadership. As part of the Senior Management Team, the DOE will lead th staff which includes Engineering and Functional Management. Additionally, the DOE will partner with the Sr Site Director and global peer Directors on critical site priorities: talent selection and development, site strategic planning, technical project execution, senior level customer management, quality systems, and financial oversight. Job Responsibilities: A critical leader of the people within the site: communicating, motivating, and mentoring staff to translate vision and strategy to effective action. Defines and drives the engineering vision for the site, including defining and balancing the need for talent acquisition and development, technology advancement, financial management, and succession planning in order to support our customers and exceed our enduring goals. Drives business development through communication of the Plexus brand and capabilities, leading business and technical discussions, and defining/executing strategies on how to win business. Key accountable leader for execution of customer projects and engagements (internal & external) leads management team to ensure project and team success. Recruits, develops, and oversees functional managers within the site. Work with senior site level management to create and maintain a succession plan to ensure high potential employees are identified and prepared to fill critical management positions. Effectively develops and leverages senior level relationships with external and internal (sector/region/manufacturing) customers. Leads and inspires the entire site to ensure quality is built into our products by owning the quality system, design processes, cross work sharing and ensuring technical success. Travel will be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 25%) Skills & Abilities Detailed understanding of the product development process Operating knowledge in appropriate product development engineering disciplines Advanced decision making, problem solving skills Advanced verbal and written communication skills Strong team building skills, proven excellence in working in and with teams Excellent management skills and knowledge of management principles Excellent organizational, presentation and leadership skills Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills Education & Experience Industry experience of 10 years in direct product development engineering activities, including 4 years of project and functional management, is required for this position assuming education requirements are met.
