Centre Director - Language Centre Operations and Management Job Summary The Centre Director is responsible for the overall operations, academic program, and management of the language centre. This role requires strong business acumen, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a customer-centric approach. Responsibilities Business Operations: Take ownership of the centre\'s budget and proactively report on financial status, identifying any anomalies. Develop and meet KPI targets and other financial goals in collaboration with the Director of Operations. Propose innovative business opportunities to increase revenue and reduce costs. Communication And Organizational Skills Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Submit required reports and data as requested. Manage the centre\'s financial controls. Ensure the security and accountability of centre funds and property. Customer Focus Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including university partners, different faculties, sponsors, and agents. Implement student service offerings and develop quality student services to drive retention within the centre. Build awareness and respect for the centre within the university community through outreach efforts. Academic Management Develop and implement the academic program in accordance with ELS Language Centres standardized curriculum. Hire, train, and supervise instructional staff. Provide substitute or regular classroom instruction as needed. Manage the instructional budget and order necessary materials within budgetary guidelines. Oversee student placement, testing, and evaluation. Schedule classes, teachers, and students based on the approved template. Orient new students to the academic program. Submit required academic reports to universities and/or sponsors. Assist with the management of special programs. Strategic Thinking Develop centre plans that outline goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, and risk assessment, with contingency plans and resource allocation. Continually seek ways to increase customer satisfaction and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. Foster teamwork and provide leadership, motivation, and discipline for the team. Implement rigorous performance management and conduct regular individual and team reviews. Lead, mentor, and guide all staff. Promote good personnel relations and compliance with Human Resources policies. Recruit and retain qualified staff. Assign duties and responsibilities to staff. Promote activities that contribute to centre growth through collaboration with various ELS departments. Other Responsibilities Ensure a safe and clean working environment. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, university policies, and state and federal laws. Maintain the quality of the academic program and instructional standards.
