Director, Supply Management (APAC)

General Description

As part of the global Supply Management leadership team, responsible for overseeing the entire APAC Supply Management team and corresponding management functions. Manages the overall operation and performance standards of multiple departments under Supply Management and provides strategic direction and leadership to the management teams. Provides leadership through the execution of new programs and initiatives that align with Supply Management\'s overall strategy, and that of Steelcase as a whole. Responsible for creating and managing the systems required to support enterprise-wide solutions and to drive the implementation of these solutions across various areas. Develops strategic plans, monitors key performance indicators, and coordinates cross functional work teams to increase effectiveness of Supply Management initiatives. Aspects of Supply Management that are in the scope of this role include team strategies, strategic sourcing (supplier identification, selection, and management), purchasing, and supply processes (qualification, risk mitigation, and contract management).

Skills/Abilities

A combination of strong collaboration, influence, and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).

Able to establish organizational policies and processes in a major segment of the company and to interpret, execute and recommend modifications to company-wide policies.

Able to direct the resolution of complex issues, monitor budget and recommend changes relating to personnel.

Able to make decisions that result in achievement of timely delivery of function-wide projects.

Able to establish performance standards and goals to meet department objectives and company values.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor\'s in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience. Master\'s degree preferred.
• 15+ yrs. related operations/supply/process management experience in a high volume/mix manufacturing environment

Supervision

Supervises Supply Management managers.

Work Environment

Office environment with some national and international travel required.
