We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented EHS Engineer to oversee and implement Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs within the organization.
The role ensures compliance with Malaysian EHS regulations, promotes a safe working environment, and supports continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironment (E)
Implement and monitor environmental management systems and policies.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (DOE requirements, waste management, emissions, chemical handling).
Coordinate scheduled environmental inspections and audits.
Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal in accordance with regulations.
Health (H)
Conduct workplace risk assessments, hazard identification, and health monitoring.
Support occupational health programs, including medical surveillance and health awareness initiatives.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses, and prepare reports with corrective actions.
Safety (S)
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and safety programs.
Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.
Perform routine safety inspections and site audits to ensure compliance.
Act as a key liaison with DOSH, DOE, and other regulatory authorities.
Reporting & Improvement
Prepare EHS reports, statistics, and documentation for management review.
Support internal and external EHS audits and certification activities (e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
Fresh graduates may be considered for junior roles, OR
2-5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing / semiconductor / industrial environments preferred.
Certification (Advantage):
SHO (Registered with DOSH)
NEBOSH / IOSH / ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 related certifications
Knowledge:
Familiar with Malaysian EHS laws and regulations (OSHA 1994, DOSH, DOE).
Experience with risk assessment, incident investigation, and EHS audits.
Language:
Good command of English; Mandarin is an advantage for MNC / China-linked companies.
