MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

: Competent person with Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management and general knowledge of OSHA.
Candidates without the certification but with relevant experience as an EHS Officer are encouraged to apply; the company will sponsor the required training subject to terms and conditions.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

: Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.

Objective:

Maintaining and developing comprehensive Environment, Health & Safety programs. This role is crucial for ensuring full compliance with Malaysian EHS laws, especially those from DOSH and DOE, including OSHA 1994, EQA 1974 and any other act related.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify and rectify unsafe acts and conditions.

2. Develop, review, and implement Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.

3. Determining Control (HIRADC) for all routine and non-routine activities.

4. Lead incident investigations, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and develop effective corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.

5. Serve as the Secretary for the site's Safety & Health Committee, including preparing meeting materials and tracking action items.

6. Manage the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for high-risk activities such as hot work and confined space entry.

7. Oversee the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program, including needs assessment, employee training, and compliance monitoring.

8. Conduct EHS induction for new employees and contractors, and deliver regular toolbox talks and specific safety training.

9. Assist in the development and execution of emergency response drills (e.g., fire evacuation, chemical spills).

10. Manage all aspects of Scheduled Waste in accordance with the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005. This includes proper identification, labelling, storage, and coordinating disposal with DOE-licensed contractors.

11. Maintain accurate records and manage reporting via the Electronic Scheduled Waste Information System (e-SWIS).

12. Monitor and ensure compliance with industrial effluent discharge standards (if applicable) and air emission regulations from our production processes.

13. Maintain the site's Chemical Register and ensure all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up-to-date and accessible as per CLASS Regulations 2013.

14. Conduct regular inspections of chemical storage areas, waste holding areas, and pollution control equipment.

15. Stay current with all applicable Malaysian EHS laws and regulations and ensure the facility's policies and procedures are updated accordingly.

16. Act as a key liaison with regulatory bodies such as the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH/JKKP), Department of Environment (DOE/JAS), and the Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA).

17. Assist in practise the standard of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System).

18. Prepare and submit all mandatory EHS reports to government agencies in a timely manner.

19. Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready EHS records, documentation, and data.

20. And any other job as assigned by the Management from time to time.

Pay: RM3,800.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
