Key Responsibilities
Perform heat loss analysis and EHT circuit design calculations.
Prepare detailed installation drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and work instructions.
Supervise and inspect installation, testing, and commissioning works at project sites.
Coordinate with insulation contractors, electrical teams, and other engineering disciplines.
Conduct loop checks, functional testing, and system troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, QA/QC standards, and safety requirements.
Provide technical support and assist in resolving EHT-related issues during project execution.
Technical Skills
Familiar with international standards such as
IEC, IEEE, NEC, and API
.
Proficient in interpreting and preparing: Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Electrical Load Schedules, Cable Routing Drawings, Heat Loss Calculation Sheets.
Knowledge of
hazardous area classification and equipment selection
(Zone 1, Zone 2).
Familiarity with EHT products from major brands such as
nVent Raychem, Chromalox, or Eltherm
.
Software Proficiency
Proficient in
Microsoft Office
and
AutoCAD
(or similar design tools).
Knowledge of
Navisworks
or
SolidWorks
for piping isometric assessments is an advantage.
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Good communication and teamwork skills for coordination with multi-discipline teams.
Capable of working independently or leading a small team.
Requirements:
Education & Certification
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
Diploma holders with strong relevant experience may also be considered.
Relevant certifications such as CompEx, HV/LV certification, or equivalent are an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum
3-5 years of working experience
in Electrical Heat Tracing systems (design, installation, testing, and commissioning).
Experience in oil & gas, chemical plants, LNG facilities, or similar industries is preferred.
Able to travel and possess own transport.
Preferred someone with hands-on experience in:
Heat tracing cable selection and layout
Circuit design and load calculation
Control and monitoring systems
Junction box and power distribution design
Insulation and temperature maintenance systems
Added Advantages
Experience with
control system integration
(BMS/DCS).
Knowledge of
smart heat tracing systems
(self-regulating or mineral-insulated cables).
