This role requires strong scripting capabilities, hands-on experience in high-availability (HA) technologies, and the ability to drive root cause analysis and performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, manage, and maintain large-scale
Linux/Unix server infrastructure
(RHEL, Unix, Solaris).
Perform system upgrades, patch management, OS hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
Configure, implement, and support
Veritas Cluster Services (VCS)
and other high-availability solutions.
Provide
deep-dive troubleshooting
and performance tuning for complex OS-level and infrastructure issues.
Lead and execute
root cause analysis (RCA)
for critical incidents, ensuring long-term stability.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using
Shell scripting
and
Perl
to streamline operations.
Implement system
security controls
, compliance measures, and best-practice governance policies.
Support capacity planning, infrastructure design, and architecture enhancements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DBA, Network, Security, Application Support) to ensure seamless operations.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive system documentation, SOPs, and configurations.

Strong hands-on experience with

Exposure to monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Dynatrace, etc.)

Cloud exposure (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent
6-9 years of hands-on experience in Linux/Unix systems engineering
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and lead technical problem investigations
