Engineer - MES Developer

Duties and responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement IT solutions to support manufacturing operations and processes.
• Communicate with MES analysts to fully understand requirements, provide feedback, and request clarification as needed.
• Review requirements and data models and translate into responsible MES applications and architecture.
• Act as the escalation point for help desk cases to ensure timely and accurate closure of issues.
• Liaise with business users and support/resolve MES system issues to ensure availability and performance.
• Perform and manage application installation, configuration, testing, and debugging to support MES and its ancillary systems.
• Conduct design and code reviews with extended team to ensure that code meets internal IT standards.Support test execution including system level and integration tests.
• The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

Professional competencies

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or other equivalent degree.
• Must possess min 3 years and above relevant experience in MES development.
• Experienced in Manufacturing domain (Functional or Technical).
• Functional knowledge in any following areas such as Product Data Management, Shop Floor Control, Capacity Requirements Planning, Manufacturing Accounting, Incoming Inspection and Materials Management and Product Quality.
• Good understanding of MES system.
• Experienced in simplifying complex scenarios.
• Experienced in managing digitalisation project.
• Having great interest in digitalisation and process automation.
• Good communication skills, especially in production environment.
• Strong in project management and report development.
• Preferably having knowledge in Industry 4.0 and digitalisation.
• Preferably having good exposure in using ERP system (E.g, SAP)
