Objectives of the Position
The product family \xe2\x80\x9cData Foundation\xe2\x80\x9d is responsible for the data life cycle management within BASF, from data ingestion and persistence, integration and transformation up to data analytics and visualization. Equipped with the right people and assets our portfolio covers solution in the area of Business Intelligence, Self-service Analytics, Big Data, Data Integration and Streaming, Data Management, Data Architecture and Enterprise Information Management. We empower BASF by providing high quality data through our data and analytics platforms. Main Tasks
As Enterprise Architect you will be part of the team which manages a large technological landscape in the area of Data Management especially with a focus on Enterprise Information Management as well as Enterprise Content Management. This requires deep knowledge and understanding of the focus area, as well as Enterprise Architecture, Requirements Management, and Policy/Governance to our BASF Digital community.
As Enterprise Architect you work in a close collaboration with your stakeholder to set the direction and establish the approach of organization\'s operations, improves the IT infrastructure, optimizes business operations works to integrate the organization\'s information applications and programs. As Enterprise Architect you are responsible for providing consultancy, communication as well as skill-up sessions to enable the organization to use the right architecture, strategies and work with the long-term technology roadmaps. You understand the current and future BASF business needs and define the future architectural landscape including the multi-year execution of roadmap.
Requirements

• Support / understand BASF Business / Digital strategies IN ORDER TO create technical, data and business architecture models and strategy that is aligned with business objectives and outcomes.
• Focus on a subset of business outcomes and drive actions to deliver the appropriate Enterprise Architecture.
• Ensure high quality documentation of as-is architectural landscape in collaboration with Portfolio Management and Product Teams in Enterprise Architecture Repository (EAR = ServiceNow + ins:pi, confluent, draw.io,\xe2\x80\xa6)
• Collaborate with internal and external Business Partners, Segments, Product Families & Products to develop the to-be architecture landscape and the required roadmaps
• Enable your counterparts to use the EA principles and ensure that their implementation
• Gather requirements originating from overarching architecture/strategy needs and route them towards stakeholders or initiate projects
• Provide consulting and guidance to products and projects, considering EA landscape, technology, information protection, legal and regulatory aspects and guide them through architectural requirements
• Gain knowledge about future technologies, get involved in innovation topics and support solution qualification to demonstrate viability of such concepts
• Ensure architectural compliance as part of approval processes (e.g. technical concurrence)
• Support the development and execution of effective EA Communications and Change Management
• Evaluating internal functions, systems engineering, business development strategies, and IT processes and suggesting improvements.
• Conduct trainings to improve employees\' knowledge and skills for future organizational growth in your area of expertise.
• Actively participate in different communities and support communication in the area of data & integration architecture.

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, informatics, business informatics or in a comparable field

Working Experience

• Minimum 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 related working experience

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory) I IT, Data, Technical Background

• Long-term experience as consultant, project manager or developer in Enterprise Content Management projects based on market-leading Content Services Platforms OpenText ECM Suite (Documentum, Content Server, AppWorks, Intelligent Capture), IBM ECM Suite (Content Manager, Spectrum) Hyland, Alfresco, Veeva Vault or Laserfiche in combination with Microsoft 365 as Collaboration Services Platform
• Good overview about laws, regulatory requirements, and best practice frameworks in the area of quality management, information protection, data privacy and records management. Knowledge about industry-specific regulations and standards (Chemicals and Life Science) would be appreciated
• Experience in building modern application designs in the area of data management, data architecture, enterprise information management, enterprise content management, document management, records management, enterprise archiving and integration architecture

Professional Knowledge

• Strong Digital mindset to accelerate BASF Digitalization transformation journey with Familiarity with Digital technology
• Knowledge at least in two business or functional areas (e.g. Quality Management, EHS, Manufacturing)
• Experiencing Agile way of working or agile implementation approach, best Project Management experience
• Solution and innovation oriented practical as well as analytical strategic thinking
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills within an international team and fluent in English
• Provide strategic solutions which are creative, conceptual, analytical, and strategic thinking (e.g. problem identification and analysis, development or adjustment of solutions. Concepts and strategies which are originally new and Out of Box)

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Additional)

• Experience in Data Stewardship, Data Governance Processes
• Experience in the field of enterprise integration (process, data, thing and user integration) and technologies like event streaming, API management, Enterprise Service BUS (SOA), etc. or as well as data and integration architecture security
• Experience regarding basic IT technologies, such as operating systems, databases, SAP, HTTP communication, and networking
