Check and inspect equipment and/or equipment components to ensure they meet production project requirements \xef\x83\x98 Check mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for alignment and proper functioning \xef\x83\x98 Test and check electrical assemblies and wiring for proper connections (on equipment) \xef\x83\x98 Perform minor adjustments and repairs \xef\x83\x98 Prepare reports and notify appropriate people of equipment problems and deficiencies \xef\x83\x98 Ensure compliance with codes and standards \xef\x83\x98 To determine extent of production, replacement, or modification required to maintain or improve efficiency of installation \xef\x83\x98 Inspects work being performed during construction or modification to determine compliance with specifications. \xef\x83\x98 Examine voltage reports and load tests on equipment to ensure power and circuits\xe2\x80\x99 adequacy. \xef\x83\x98 Prepare reports on investigations or inspections and actions taken. \xef\x83\x98 Issue notices and recommend corrective actions when infractions or problems are found. \xef\x83\x98 Examine carrier operating rules, employee qualification guidelines, or carrier training and testing programs for compliance with regulations or safety standards. \xef\x83\x98 Investigate and make recommendations on carrier requests for waiver of federal standards. \xef\x83\x98 Examine transportation vehicles, equipment, or systems to detect damage, wear, or malfunction. \xef\x83\x98 Conduct equipment tests, using diagnostic equipment. \xef\x83\x98 Inspect repairs to equipment to ensure that repair work was performed properly. \xef\x83\x98 Train and evaluate local junior engineers to ensure that they are aware of the specifications of the equipment required.
