  • To monitor and to carry out the daily operation of shipping activities for both bulk vessel and container vessel and to attain efficiency in the operation and to keep the operations at lowest cost possible with present facilities available.
  • To assist the HOD in the negotiation of Sales contract for purchase and charter party for vessel chartering
  • To assist the HOD in the Marine insurance claim and to attain optimal claim amount possible
Responsibilities:
  • To provide full-fledged purchasing operations support for Malaysia and Vietnam.
  • To cover vessel operations. This includes liaising & negotiating with plants, forwarder and shipping liner on documentation, free time at discharge port, delivery of containers.
  • To liaise with supplier on shipping instructions, splits of cargo, shipments schedule, shipping documents and all other matters for bulk and containerized shipments.
  • To liaise with ship broker on all matter pertaining to shipping operation and payment of freight.
  • To monitor and update plants on all incoming vessel, monitor loading activities at loading ports and discharging operation at discharge ports.
  • To initiate trouble shooting and solve problems from any ad-hoc shipping operations.
  • To cover marine insurance matters for all incoming shipments. This includes reporting to Insurance Department on all insurance claims, compile & submit shipping documents to facilitate claims, liaising with Insurer and to monitor salvage process for all damaged cargo.
  • To issue purchase order (PO) which includes landed cost for all purchases.
  • To raise purchase check list. This includes checking and verifying shipping, port, transport and other vendor bills and make record in the purchase check list. To submit and liaise with Finance on payment, collection of shipping documents and recording payment details on the purchase checklist.
  • To update and maintain various purchasing records. This includes cash flow forecast, shipment data in the purchasing database, incoming goods report and other records.
  • To review, highlight and discuss on terms of sales contract and on vessel\'s charter party.
  • To perform any other tasks and assignments as directed by the management from time to time.
Qualifications
  • Candidate should possess at least an Advanced Diploma / Bachelor\'s Degree or higher in any field.
  • Preferably Executives with at least 5 year(s) of working experience in operation/support matters in Purchasing, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Shipping or similar role / industry.
