The CBRE design team communicates marketing objectives and business insights through the use of graphic elements, typography, design fundamentals and expert story telling. They are hyper-focused on creating world-class design solutions for a variety of platforms, channels and audiences.


Senior Graphic Designers are responsible for the conceptualization and strategy of design, as well as the tactical production of deliverables from start to finish. This role requires critical thinking, resourcefulness, business acumen and the ability to sell one\xe2\x80\x99s ideas. They can effectively translate business insights into compelling creative designs in both digital and print formats.


This role works collaboratively with a team of creatives, cross-functional partners, key stakeholders, and internal / external clients with broad latitude to exercise artistic and technical creativity. Senior Designers must have a high attention to detail, creative problem solving skills, and an eye for what captures a viewers attention. Individuals in this role serve as a team lead and give direction / technical guidance to juniors creatives, helping them complete work successfully.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Takes direction from Marketing leadership, key stakeholders and internal / external clients to conceptualize creative projects that are strategic, focused and on-target. Leveraging their deep understanding of the commercial real estate industry they\'re able to provide junior members of the team with insights that help projects gain approvals. They are also responsible for deploying items across a multitude of deliverable types in both digital & print platforms.
  • Conceptualizes and delivers strategic, visually engaging designs that are relevant and purposeful towards CBRE business efforts. Serves as a lead designer on assigned projects and is accountable for the end-to-end execution of all design tasks. Ensures junior team members have a clear understanding of each assignment and helps drive consistency across the team. Senior designers are able to expertly deliver collateral for both print and digital formats and can easily navigate through more complex strategy-related tasks (i.e. story boarding, concepting/brainstorming, presenting work to clients, etc.).
  • Expertly balances company guidelines with the need for delivering custom one-off pieces that meet client requirements and impact business efforts. Maintains an expert knowledge of corporate brand standards and guidelines to ensure consistency throughout all assigned marketing tasks. Is a champion for brand consistency and is responsible for ensuring the final product(s) are in line with approved usages. Works with Marketing management / leadership to create and update brand guidance, while ensuring junior designers are adhering to standards.
  • Leads brainstorming sessions for the creative team and consistently brings innovative and compelling solutions to our clients. With a broader understanding of the commercial real estate space, CBRE\'s businesses and clients needs, Senior Graphic Designers serve as a primary communicator with clients and key stakeholders when developing / conceptualizing materials.
  • Develops creative strategies from information downloads with clients and key stakeholders, translates them into design insights and elements, and distills the information into actionable objectives for the junior members of the team (i.e. ensuring that there is clear messaging, rhythm / balance, alignment, size / spacing, color, etc.).
  • Creates and maintains benchmarks and guidelines for junior-level team members to manage against. Understands various technology platforms and can work across multiple mediums comfortably. Is responsible for team-level delivery of work and ensures that tasks are pulled together thoughtfully and cohesively. Senior Graphic Designers are engaged in ongoing customer conversations and can expertly cascade changing client needs / requirements back to the team. They are accountable for helping junior members of the team pivot and re-align tasks accordingly.
  • Drives engagement with client service teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners to ensure active participation, hand-offs, and coordination of deliverables, ensuring on-time and high-quality product(s). Presents creative ideas to the team, and to internal / external clients as appropriate.
  • Identifies, partners and engages strategically with relevant vendors (i.e. for print, video, AR/VR, etc.) coordinates estimates, distribute files, review proofs and oversee the final quality control of items. Recommends vendors to management / team for the fulfillment of deliverables - including paper, printing, large format graphics, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring team-level completion of projects on time and in accordance with client expectations and key stakeholder requirements. Actively participates in initiatives outside of day-to-day tasks, and recommends / consults with clients directly on most appropriate design options based on their overall marketing goals.
  • Works collaboratively with Art Directors, Project Managers, key stakeholders and clients to set the vision for projects and helps bring innovative solutions to our clients. Performs quality assurance measures pre- and post- delivery by reviewing and proofing for errors or unacceptable standards. Assists in the mentoring and development of junior designers, freelancers and contractors.
  • With a strong understanding of the commercial real estate space, they can effectively share knowledge, best practices, tips & tricks with their co-workers. They are dedicated to advancing the skills and experience of those around them. Areas of preferred knowledge / experience include but are not limited to: advanced knowledge of printing (digital, offset, large format, environmental graphics, etc.), managing a press check, knowledge of print techniques and practices, pre-flighting and collecting files for output, directing a photoshoot, proficiency in digital retouching and asset optimization, and knowledge of photography techniques / practices.
  • Drives the team to continuously learn and improve through understanding design trends, strategies, tools and technologies. Is focused on staying connected to emerging tools and technologies (both internally and externally) and advises on their implementation / incorporation into day-to-day practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Education and Experience

  • Associate\'s Degree and 3+ years of experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience (equivalent work experience = 1 year of experience for every 2 years of higher-level education).
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Media, Information Technology or a related degree is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, techniques, applications and coding languages (i.e. javaScript, HTML, etc.).
  • Has a working knowledge of the commercial real estate industry, CBRE tools, technologies and services.
  • Has familiarity or direct experience with coding languages and proprietary tools/technologies to create, edit and distribute digital deliverables.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.



Other Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat).
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS and Dreamweaver applications.
  • Knowledge of Ceros, Liquid Galaxy, Type kit and font management applications.
  • Strong knowledge of print practices (digital, offset, large format), web publishing and graphic design principles
  • Ability to multitask and fulfill multiple project requests while meeting development deadlines.
  • Not hesitant to escalate issues where necessary to upper management.
