Incumbents carry out assignments within well-defined practices, procedures and policies. Works independently on details of assignments, and has limited decision-making authority most decisions are made or guided by the immediate supervisor. Decisions/actions may have an impact on the department\'s/divisions goals. Works under close Supervision and requires direction on how assignments are to be executed begins to put forward ideas on how work assignments are completed. Establishes cooperative relationships to work effectively with colleagues supports others and participates as a team member, and takes responsibility for own work commitments. Interacts directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members engages in routine exchanges of information interactions with external contacts, if applicable, would be monitored. Detailed Description Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Develops, implements and audits local and governmental compliance programs in Environmental, Health and Safety areas to provide a healthy and safe work environment. Prepares technical EHS operating procedures, training materials and documentations. Coordinates, schedules and conducts technical EHS training for employees. Ensures compliance to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard. Performs compliance audits and recommends corrective actions as necessary. Maintains log sheets, inspection records, computer monitoring data and other record keeping systems as required by the specific program areas. Participates in and provides leadership to safety committees, coordinates activities of subcommittees in specific areas. Documents meetings and implements tracking and reporting methods. Provides information and guidance to employees on safety and ergonomic issues. Conducts accident/incident investigations to determine cause. Recommends and implements corrective measures, performs repairs and monitors results. Selects and manages contractors and vendors to obtain and maintain safety equipment and supplies. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations, programs, and issues, including ISO 14001 requirements. In-depth understanding of facility operations and related issues and requirements. Strong record keeping and project management skills. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers. Physical Demands Duties of the position are performed in generally good working conditions with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc. Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies. Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions, sitting in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials. Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects over 20 pounds. Typical Experience Zero to two years of relevant experience. Typical Education Bachelor\'s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational requirements may vary by geography.
