Farm Manager (Aquaculture) Freshwater Ponds

Reports to:

Operations Director

Mission:

Lead daily operations for shrimp/fish production to hit survival, FCR, quality and yield targets with strict biosecurity and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Biosecurity

- Plan pond/cage prep, stocking densities and grow-out; monitor WQ (DO, pH, temp, salinity/alkalinity, TAN/NO2); execute corrective actions; enforce pond-entry protocols, disinfectants and visitor control.

People Leadership

- Schedule and supervise operators/technicians; conduct toolbox meetings and on-the-job training; appraise performance and discipline.

Feed & Inventory

- Plan feed programs; control feed conversion; manage chemicals/meds and farm stores with proper records and FIFO.

Maintenance

- Ensure aerators, pumps, generators, feeders and sensors are functional; coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Compliance & Reporting

- Keep accurate daily logs (stocking, WQ, feed, mortality, treatments, harvest); meet MyGAP/HSE and environmental requirements; prepare weekly/monthly reports and action plans.

Site-Specific Tasks

Freshwater:manage liming/fertilization, water-exchange/RAS, embankment integrity, plankton balance.

Requirements

Diploma/Degree in Aquaculture/Fisheries (or related) with 3-5 years' farm operations experience; strong fresh grad pipeline for exec roles you'll lead. Hands-on water-quality, disease signs and treatment; confident with SOPs and audits. Leadership, shift planning, and communication (BM; English; Mandarin/Tamil an advantage depending on site). Outdoor/ farm-stay readiness. Can commute between Ipoh and Lenggong on a short notice
