Job Description

Cotecna is a leading provider of testing, inspection and certification services. Founded in Switzerland in 1974, Cotecna started off as a family business and has now grown to become a world-class international player with 4000 employees in close to 100 offices in over 50 countries.

Responsible to oversee laboratory management, quality control, analyzing and reporting on test results. Provide support to field inspection and safety measures as set by the company.

Main Accountabilities

• To ensure timeliness and accuracy to meet turnaround time and that the daily test result is produced accurately and precisely.
• Adhere to group HSE safety procedures.
• Ensure that the information from the clients is kept as strictly confidential and never revealed to the third party.
• Ensure compliance to testing and QA/QC procedures.
• Ensure all analytical equipment, apparatus etc are to be appropriately maintained and calibrated as per the required schedule.
• To supervise and ensure competency of the lab technician.
• To train, supervise and monitor junior staff with assigned test methods and procedures.
• To ensure all the standard methods are up to date or the latest version.
• To ensure all controlled quality procedures, test methods and document are kept confidentially and restricted within Cotecna premise.
• Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in the laboratory

Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in chemistry or related field from recognizes university/college
• Minimum 2 year\xe2\x80\x99s experience in relevant analytical laboratory, experience in palm oil testing would be an advantage
• Must be IKM registered
• Good laboratory and analytical skill
• Solving quantitative problems
• Good knowlegde of using laboratory equipment
• Has strong commercial awareness , understand business and customer expectations.
• Have excellent communication skills , both in written and spoken English
• Adept in using MS office tool
• Willing to work in Bintulu, Sarawak
