POSITION OVERVIEW AS SENIOR ROTATING ENGINEER Carry out field service activities on rotating machinery from various manufacturers. Strip, inspect, repair, rebuild, commission machinery including reporting and recommendations Supervise a team of mechanical fitter or work autonomously Machinery to work on: Steam turbine, axial and centrifugal compressor, integrally gear compressor, reciprocating compressor, gearboxes, blower, fan, pump Support the operation of the service activities with technical expertise Assist the operation of the workshop as required including hands on activity during field service down time. Assist sales activities for both workshop and field services in conjunction with IPS Business Development Managers. Including customer visits. Provide technical customer support to clients Develop detailed scope of works to assist in sales and contract execution. Development of specific quality documentation (ITP\xe2\x80\x99s, IRS, Work Procedures) for service activities in conjunction with Operation Manager Provide on the job training for IPS service personnel ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: \xe2\x80\xa2 Provides technical service of a varied and complex nature on site ensuring compliance with IPS\xe2\x80\x99s principals and clients specifications (IPS/Clients). \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for all activities related to the service, repair or maintenance of IPS/Clients products and or other products taken on for repair/service. \xe2\x80\xa2 Produce detailed technical service reports in a timely manner for issue to clients. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of IPS/Clients product ensuring their safe, efficient and reliable operation. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide written and verbal technical support to customers in relation to IPS products and services. \xe2\x80\xa2 Produce necessary quality documentation to the required standard in line with the IPS quality system for service activities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop and maintain the goodwill of clients during installation/servicing period and promote the sale of IPS products and services to existing and potential clients. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for the IPS team on site for OHS&E related issues and compliance with IPS OHS&E policies and procedures in conjunction with the clients OHS&E policies and procedures. \xe2\x80\xa2 Report to management information gained from the client relating to the performance of products/services and other matter related to IPS business and reputation. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain at all time a professional approach to clients and coworkers. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provides technical guidance and service on the use and application of IPS products. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide technical support to other service personnel. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide close support to sales activities relating to service activities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Participation of training activities within mutual agreement. \xe2\x80\xa2 Coordination of activities with Operation Manager. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide on the job training to IPS personnel whether in the workshop or field as required and within the capabilities of the incumbent. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain standards as applicable with our various principals and applicable Australian Standards. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: The incumbent has expert knowledge in rotating equipment such as steam turbines, gas turbines, axial, radial, reciprocating and screw compressors, pumps and other rotating equipment from manufacturers such as the OEM\xe2\x80\x99s represented by IPS and third-party products. SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Experienced Engineer with engineering degree or equivalent or at least 5 years experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Familiarity with the specific maintenance and repair procedures for rotating equipment. Leadership skills, ability to lead and motivate field service teams. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency in computer skills (word processing etc.) in order to produce professional and quality technical documentation. In planning and conducting service activities the incumbent has scope for independent coordination and accomplishment of the assigned tasks within the area of his/her technical expertise.
