What we want you to do...
Data Creation and Maintenance
Setting up new records (e.g. new customers, products, vendors).
Updating existing records with changes (address changes, product specifications).
Ensuring compliance with naming conventions and data standards.
Data Governance
Establishing rules, policies, and procedures for managing master data.
Setting up data stewardship roles.
Data Quality Management
Validating data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
Perform periodic master data review and de-duplicate records, as necessary.
Performing audits and running data quality reports.
Ensuring compliance with data retention policies.
Data Integration
Coordinate with IT on interfaces to other tools and system (e.g., ERP, CRM, SCM).
Coordinate with IT on managing APIs or middleware for system-to-system data consistency.
Data Standardization
Enforcing standardized formats for fields (e.g., date formats, units of measure).
Using master data templates and data dictionaries.
Master Data Security and Access Control
Controlling who can view or edit master data.
Maintain audit trails and evidence for controls
Support internal/external audits with data extracts, change logs, and process walkthroughs.
Hierarchy and Relationship Management
Managing relationships between master data (e.g., customer hierarchies, product categories).
Master Data Migration
Support rollouts (new plants/sites, new products, price changes, organizational changes).
Participate in UAT; prepare test data, run test scripts, and sign off.
Analytics and Reporting
Support reporting and business intelligence related to Master Data.
Identifying trends in data issues for root-cause analysis.
