SENIORITY LEVEL: Internship

FUNCTION: Global Business Services Finance

SALARY RANGE: RM 1,500 monthly allowance

LOCATION: Bandar Sunway, Selangor, Malaysia

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and energised intern to join the Compliance team - This role is part of the BAT Global Business Service Compliance team. The established Compliance function acts as part of the 1st line of defence and plays a meaningful role in ensuring that an appropriate focus is placed on controls, across all functions within GBS.

Reports to: Compliance Manager

Reporting Level: Individual Contributor

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• To drive the provision of assurance to management on different process & systems and activities adherence to company\xe2\x80\x99s policies, procedures & relevant laws & regulations.
• Support to monitor SOX compliance
• Lead control management activities
• Drive the Control Navigator assessments, follow up and ensure the actions of remediation plans are completed as per the approved due date
• Control Excellence Dashboard: lead, follow up with stakeholders to ensure accurate actions are taken to deliver Local Policy Reviews, Master Data Management (MDM) housekeeping and Segregation of Duties (SoD) reviews

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Final year student or graduate from Accounting / Finance Degree or Professional Certification
• Understanding the financial practices applicable to the daily tasks.
• Eager to learn, dedicated, resourceful and able to work in fast paced environment.
• Good interpersonal skills, digital savvy, and a great teammate
• Attention to detail, methodical and organized.
• Effective planning and time management skills.
